SOLAR LIGHTS

EIGHT BENIFITS OF SOLAR LIGHTS

Submitted by: Joseph P. Sacco

You say to yourself, “I have heard about the green movement towards using solar energy for the home and garden, but why should I convert over? Will it cost me more money in the long run to install solar lights? Will I have to spend an inordinate amount of time installing and maintaining these solar lights?” These concerns and others associated with solar energy will be addressed and you will be able to draw your own conclusions as to the Benefits of Solar Lights.

To me the concept of using solar lights summons up the feeling of doing something right for the environment. How does it make you feel? Green lights can come in the form of solar garden lights, solar path lights, solar patio lights, solar lamps and lanterns, solar address lights, solar shed lights, solar spot and security lights, as well as solar pond and fountain lights. Perhaps you never thought about it and would like to know more. Let’s explore the benefits of utilizing solar powered lights and then let you draw you own conclusion.

First, standard electrical power generating systems use coal, oil, gas, and other Earth’s natural resources. This is the energy source for conventional lights powered by electricity. Solar powered lights use energy that does not require any fuel, transportation, or storage of such fuel. Outdoor solar lights are clean, non-polluting, reliable, and depend upon the sun as a renewable source of energy.

Secondly, each individual solar panel running the solar powered lights is a long-lasting fixture. Solar panels generate no noise and have no moving parts, making them a safe and reliable solution to providing lighting where electricity is not available.

Third, solar power is available as long as the sun exists. Solar power can be stored temporarily with rechargeable batteries and is especially useful in remote areas.

Fourth, solar panels are relatively maintenance free and have no large recurrent costs. Occasionally the solar panel for the solar powered lights must be monitored to be free of debris so it may capture maximum sunlight in order to recharge the batteries daily. The solar replacement batteries must also be replaced every two to three years since they may be recharged from 500 to 700 times in their lifetime.

Fifth, installation is easy requiring no electrical hook-ups to remote power sources with wires or cords. Solar panels can be placed anywhere the sun is persistent. Your creative genius can then take over to create the tranquil ambiance or useful function you desire. Simply select your location, install, and presto you are done in a matter of minutes!!

Sixth, insect swarming around your lights is not a concern. The LED’s used in the solar powered lights do not emit infrared light that bugs are attracted to. I am sure you will greatly appreciate this feature, as you are entertaining on your patio or garden on a warm summer night with family and friends.

Seventh, solar lights don’t present themselves as an electrical hazard to people because of the non-presence of a strong electrical current. This is especially critical where young children and pets are present. I am certain this will give you peace of mind relative to safety in your landscaping endeavors.

Eighth, during electrical power outages your solar lights will NOT be affected since they do not rely upon electricity. This is a great advantage when using solar lights for specific applications. When an existing or potential customer is searching for or looking at your place of business or business sign utilizing solar powered lights during an outage, there will be no interruption of visibility. Also if a family member or friend is coming to your home during the same time it will be very easy to find your home using solar address lights. In fact in both instances, the light will be most visible since no other lights will be present.

Now that you are aware of the benefits associated with using solar lights, it’s time to start planning the beautification process of your garden and yard. Come on over and visit us at www.SolarLights4U.com and discover the wonderful possibilities. We’ll keep a solar light on for you!!
