Casserole dish is the best when it comes to making sweet dishes or savoury for an individual. However if the piece is big enough, it can be used for holding soups and stews as well. It is the most ideal cookware that can be used in the oven to the tableware. The smaller casseroles are brilliantly designed that they will convey a lot of things to the guests as well. These dishes are available in different colours and sizes and some of the colours are graded blue, volcanic, cerise, almond, granite, satin blue, satin black, strawberry, kiwi, classic green, teal, Dijon and cassis. With so many choices, you certainly have a plenty of options to decide from.

The casseroles that come along with small lids are not very different from the ramekins. You can choose to cook and serve small portions of food in the elegant casserole. The lid helps in keeping the food warm and apart from this factor it is extremely decorative as well. The lid is very essential when some food item has to be heated in the microwave. The lid of the casserole is very well crafted that it can be washed properly with the help of the dishwasher as well. Also, the casserole with the lid can be placed in the freezer and used in the grill as it is made up of a stoneware material it does not crack, stain or chip. However most of them cannot be used directly in the heat.

Most of the casserole dishes are made up of heavy duty cast iron thereby giving it a fabulous look. Also, it gives the dish a solid feel and makes it durable. One of the biggest advantages with these dishes is that they provide an efficient and a uniform distribution of heat. This certainly means that the food would be cooked evenly and quicker. Thanks to the cast iron that is used, the dish retains the heat well enough thereby making it energy efficient.

However for people who are not good enough with holding heavy things, then this casserole dish is not the best choice as they are quite heavy. You must also bear in mind though the cast iron provides the heaviness to the dish, they are also brittle and hence if dropped, it might break too. Apart from this, the dishes are made up of an enamel coating both inside and outside. This helps in providing a non-reactive surface which is the best for cooking, marinating, refrigerating and freezing.

These dishes come along with an integral handle that is crafted very well to match the dish and it is made up of cast iron as well. The handle helps you to carry the dish safely and since the handle is made up of iron, they would heat up along with the dish. Hence you have to be quite careful while handling the casserole. The dishes are rust resistant; however make sure you store it in dry conditions. Last but not the least, cleaning the dish is extremely simple. Make sure no kind of detergent is used while cleaning the dish as there are some particles left behind due to the carbon particles. These dishes can be bought from various shops across the globe and irrespective of the price they are certainly a good buy.
